E-RA01 · A direction, its related angles and its inverse values

The terminal ray of \(\theta\), where \(\displaystyle \frac\pi2\lt \theta\lt \pi\), passes through \(P(-12,5)\). The diagram is not a scale for measuring the angle.

Find \(OP\), then find \(\sin\theta\), \(\cos\theta\) and \(\tan\theta\) exactly.

[3]

Find \(\cos(\pi-\theta)\) and \(\sin(2\pi+\theta)\) exactly.

[2]

Express \(\sin^{-1}(\sin\theta)\) and \(\tan^{-1}(\tan\theta)\) in terms of \(\theta\). Explain why neither equals \(\theta\).

[3]
Original coordinate diagram; do not measure the angle.
