Challenge. Construct quadrilateral \(ABCD\) with \(AB=7\text{ cm}\), \(AD=5\text{ cm}\) and \(BC=3\text{ cm}\). Both \(AD\) and \(BC\) are perpendicular to \(AB\), with \(C,D\) on the same side of \(AB\). Measure \(CD\) to the nearest \(0.1\text{ cm}\) and \(\angle ADC\) to the nearest degree. Could \(CD\) also be parallel to \(AB\)? Explain.

Hint

Draw the two perpendicular sides before joining their endpoints. Compare the perpendicular distances of \(C\) and \(D\) from the base.
