In the expansion of \((1+kx)^6\), with k real, the coefficients of \(\displaystyle x^{0}, x^{1}\) and \(\displaystyle x^{2}\), in that order, form three consecutive terms of an arithmetic progression.

  1. Show that k satisfies \(15k^2-12k+1=0\). [3]
  2. Find both possible k exactly. [2]
  3. It is now given that the progression is increasing. Select k and find the common difference exactly. [3]
